Please contact the Guidance Office if you would like to have your transcript printed. If a college has requested a copy, it must be an official document sent from our office. Provide the name of the college, address, and your birthdate. You may also request to pick up a copy of your transcript from our office; please indicate whether you need an official or unofficial copy.

Judy Ernst Scholarship – Two awards in the amount of $500 and $250 (non-renewable) will be given to two BCCU #2 graduating seniors who must have attended Sorento School during all or part of their elementary school career.  The scholarship is to further the student's education by attending a major university, junior college, or a trade school.  The application is in the Guidance Office scholarship drawer. Application deadline is by April 15, 2024.

GREENVILLE OPTIMIST CLUB SCHOLARSHIPS: General Scholarship, and Bill Wise Scholarship – $1,000 each. The application will qualify you for both the Greenville Optimist General Scholarship, and the Bill Wise Optimist Scholarship. Criteria for these scholarships are academic achievement, financial need, extra-curricular involvement, and volunteer activities.  Priority will be given to students entering a major field of study which emphasizes working with youth; priority also given to family members of the Optimist Club, or other service organizations. Applications are in the Guidance Office scholarship drawer and are due to the Guidance Office by April 15, 2024.

BRADFORD NATIONAL BANK SCHOLARSHIP – Two $1,000 awards will be given to two graduating seniors, who have maintained a high GPA and display qualities of leadership, dependability, and honesty. You may apply online at https://www.bradfordbank.com.  Click on the PERSONAL heading, then STUDENTS, then Scholarship.  Applications must be submitted online by April 19, 2024

IL Association of School Administrators (IASA) KC Region Scholarship - $500 scholarship for one senior student planning to go into Teacher Education.  Applications are available in the Guidance Office scholarship drawer.  Due to the Guidance Office by April 22, 2024.

Elizabeth Boehm Memorial Scholarship- A $250 scholarship awarded to a High School senior who is enrolled in college or university courses in the pursuit of a degree in Education. Applicants should submit a maximum one-page single spaced essay focusing on why they desire to enter the field of education and the implant of educators on their lives. Application can email their essay to tswalley@bccu2.org. Applications are due May 1st, 2024.

Kaskaskia College - Academic Department Scholarships

These scholarships provide awards which may be applied to tuition and mandatory fees. Academic Department Scholarships are merit based, recognizing students who demonstrate potential for high academic achievement and leadership. Completed applications must be received by May 1st. For more information, contact the Vice President of Instructional Services office at 618-545-3015.

A. SAT (Scholastic Aptitude Test): The SAT is is an entrance exam used by many colleges and universities  to make admissions decisions. The purpose of the SAT is to measure a high school student's readiness for college.  Students in Illinois are required to take the SAT in the spring semester of their junior year; it is required for graduation.

B. ACT (American College Test): The ACT is is an entrance exam used by many colleges and universities  to make admissions decisions.

C. ADVANCED PLACEMENT TESTS: These tests are given in several subject areas. Tests will be given in Advanced Placement English, AP Calculus, AP American History, and AP Biology. Students who score well may be able to obtain college credit and/or proficiency out of certain courses.

D. PSAT/NMSQT (PRELIMINARY SCHOLASTIC APTITUDE TEST/NATIONAL MERIT SCHOLARSHIP QUALIFYING TEST): This test is required for all students who wish to be considered for a National Merit Scholarship. A very high test score is required to become a semifinalist. This is also the test African-American students must take to compete for scholarships from the National Achievement Program for Outstanding African American Students. The PSAT/NMSQT is a multiple-choice test that measures verbal and mathematical reasoning ability important for success in college. It is recommended that this test be taken in the junior year. This test is not required for college admission.
